The above is an accurate description of where the roots of the celebration of ‘Easter’ came from
Long before, once again, the holiday/celebration time was annexed by a religion that came along long after.
I don’t think we should denigrate or insult someone’s Religion or Spirituality (even if it is different than mine) but the above statement about the “Christian” calendar is true.
Many of the Christian “traditions” were co-opted from the Pagan traditions…

This post of mine certainly gained some powerful responses.
My first reaction to some of these responses was how can I comment without damaging my karma and generating negative energy.
My second response was that I try to respect and honor the opinions of others (especially (if I can) those opinions that I do not agree with. Clearly some people in the world do not seem to do this. You can disagree with someone without being disrespectful or mean-spirited.
My third response was that some of these people proved my point of the negative aspects of religion through there responses.
My fourth responses was that I am glad that some of these responders are most certainly human and that they do not have the power to send anyone to “Tartaros” or anywhere else.

Religions are man-made (and in many cases Male-made) entities set up, ostensibly, to aid you in worshipping whatever diety or dieties you believe in. The truth is they actually serve as power bases for people to control you, make money off of you and generally to influence and control your behavior in ways to benefit those running the business- Oops - I mean the Religion.
To get closer to whatever Goddess (or Goddesses) or Gods you believe in you need to free yourself from the yoke of “organized” Religion. Some Religions are more guilty of this control than others (For example- Catholicism).
